Satsningen omfattade både biträdande universitetslektorer och gästprofessorer. Budgeten för gästprofessorer har tredubblats – från planerade 10 miljoner kronor till drygt 30 miljoner kronor.
Totalt rekryteras 32 gästprofessorer, jämfört med de 10 som ursprungligen planerades. Därutöver har 13 biträdande universitetslektorer rekryterats.
Sammanlagt innebär satsningen att 45 forskare påbörjar sina uppdrag vid Lunds universitet våren 2026.
– Vi valde att gå vidare med fler än vi ursprungligen planerade, som ett svar på ett exceptionellt starkt startfält med många högkvalitativa ansökningar och mycket intressanta samarbetspartners för Lunds universitet. Det är intressant att fördjupa sig i vad som attraherat forskarna. Utöver universitetets goda anseende, ser många Lund och Sverige som ett typexempel på en välfungerande demokrati med en stark akademisk frihet och ett öppet och jämställt samhälle, säger Erik Renström, rektor vid Lunds universitet.
Gästprofessor vid Institutionen för tjänstevetenskap
Till vår institution kan vi välkomna Michael Hall. Michael har gästat institutionen tidigare på kortare och längre besök. Michael har tidigare utsetts till hedersdoktor vid den samhällsvetenskapliga fakulteten. Nedan finns en intervju på engelska med Michael.
Why did you choose Lund University?
I have a long connection with researchers from Lund University and especially in tourism and service studies. I received an honorary doctorate from the University so it is really nice as a more experience researcher to be able to continue to work with people and encourage the further development of leading research where I can.
Can you briefly describe your current research?
My work has a number of connected strands but broadly I look at issues of sustainability, resilience, consumption, and regional development in relation to tourism and services. Looking at the interrelationships at different scales as well as the significance of factors such as geopolitics, digital technologies, and political consumerism.
What will be your main research focus during your time at Lund University?
In terms of research it will most like be in the area of sustainable consumption and degrowth but also seeing how it links in with organisational, community and individual behaviours. But some of time will also be spent sharing with colleagues and students about how we best do research in the current environment.
