Risk and Crisis Management
SMAA40, 7,5 credits
Do you want to learn more about risk and crisis management? Apply to our course where you learn to assess risks and establish action plans for different crisis.
The course is based on the recurring discussion about how risks should be managed and security created to avoid crises for businesses such as companies and authorities. The course provides tools for understanding risk management from different social science, business economics and humanities perspectives. Once a crisis arises, it must be handled, and communication and information are often of great importance. The course introduces tools for good crisis communication.
After completing the course, the knowledge goal is to provide skills in assessing a business's risks, identifying and organizing and planning to avoid these. Adverse events can sometimes escalate or take unexpected paths and thus develop into a crisis, and after completing the course, participants have skills in establishing an action and communication plan for crises.
One delimitation per se is the climate crisis where only its effects are affected as the important aspects of ecosystem services that risk stopping supply, anthropocene services in health (pandemic), tourism and logistics (fossil), trade (new laws such as the upcoming increased producer responsibility for textiles).
The course includes lectures, workshops, study visits, guest lecturers and role-playing exercises in collaboration with external actors.
