Meeting on gender, power, and inequality at Lund university
We cordially invite you to a joint meeting on sharing dynamics and everyday experiences at the intersection of gender, power, and inequality at Lund University, Campus Helsingborg, as a workplace. Every day we participate in complex situations where gender, power, and inequality are reproduced, maintained, and struggled over.
On March 8th, 2022, the Swedish Association of University Teachers and Researchers (SULF) released a report that showed that not even a third of the professors at Swedish universities are women, and even fewer belong to ethnic minority groups, persons with disabilities, or queer-identified individuals. The report also shows that women are treated differently from men in a way that hindrances them. Universities have committees producing equality plans and laws regulating equality and equal rights, but how are these plans and laws enacted at the level of everyday practices? How is our daily work experience revealing the presence of these persisting inequalities?
Please join us in discussing these issues and help us to make a change for more equal futures. At the meeting, we will discuss how to materialize our discussion (e.g., in text, image, artwork, etc.) to share it with others.
